These three mares are full sisters (TruWest Pure Prairie Smoke x M River Satin).

TruWest Summer Smoke
Summer a big, good-looking, intelligent mare; she passes these characteristics on to her foals. Her babies grow up to be tough, reliable cow horses that know how to handle themselves and love to have a job to do. We hear nothing but good things from people who own them.
Summer delivered this precocious bay filly (by TruWest Navajo Silver) in June. Her name will be TruWest Summer Breeze.

TruWest Satin Dolly

Dolly belongs to Sally. She has been a successful competitor in western horse show events and is a student of Cowboy Dressage. She represented Montana’s working Morgans at the Morgan Grand Nationals in Oklahoma City in 2017.
Dolly consistently produces colorful, gorgeous foals. Besides having the physical traits we value, such as endurance, conformation, and good looks, Dolly’s babies are friendly, curious, and intelligent.
Dolly is the oldest of our three full sisters (TruWest Pure PrairieSmoke x M River Satin).

TruWest Smokey Prairie
Prairie is Sally’s saddle horse. This mare, among all of the others, is the most like Smokey’s granddam, Flee Powderwing. She is athletic and stout, but lovely and elegant. Prairie is sensitive and intelligent, and Prairie loves Sally. Prairie is the only M River Satin foal who did not turn out to be a bay.

SC Island Alezane
SC Island Alezane with TruWest Island Star, by TruWest Smokey Mntn Chief
One day Bobbi had decided that TruWest had enough horses, and she made a decision not to buy any more. The very next day, Bobbi’s wonderful friend Sherry Siebenaler of SC Island Morgans called. She described Scarlett, then said, “Bobbi! You have to buy this horse!” Sherry was sure that we should have this mare’s genetic assets in our breeding program. She was right.
This mare’s dam, TruWest Powder’s Sugar, was a half-sister to Smokey through their sire H-Saracen. It was pure good luck that we were able to purchase Scarlett and bring her back to Montana.
This is the sweetest mare. Scarlett is kind, gentle, and friendly. Bobbi says, “She is just a joy to be around.”
Scarlett is bred to Chief for a 2026 foal.

M River Red Candy
Candy is a full sister to M River Satin, who raised ten wonderful foals for us including sisters Dolly, Summer and Prairie, and others that worked for us when we lived on Cedar Creek. After owning M River Satin for several years, Bobbi was offered the opportunity to purchase Candy as a two-year old.
Candy’s dam Red LuAnn was raised by John and Selma Blankenship. Her foals all inherited the conformation and beauty of Red LuAnn’s sire Red Canyon Phantom, and the calm, wise nature of her mother’s sire, John and Selma Blankenship’s outstanding stallion Mortana Beaver. At one time, all of the best cow horses in our string were Mortana Beaver foals.
Candy is intelligent and willing. She has a kind eye and a naturally calm demeanor. She is an excellent mother who raises consistently superb foals. She is shown above with her 2026 chestnut colt by TruWest Navajo Silver.

Mortana Ramona
Ramona was one of the last Jackson Ranch horses of breeding age offered for sale. We were thrilled to have the chance to buy this mare.
Ramona brings more foundation genetics back to TruWest Morgans. She is shown above with her June 2026 chestnut colt by TruWest Navajo Silver.

Bar None Sophia Suede
Sophia came to us from Bar None Morgans outside of Thermopolis, Wyoming. Her sire is TruWest Silver Suede, shown below with his owner, our long-time friend Harvey Seidel. Learn more about TruWest Silver Suede.

We are so blessed to have had the opportunity to purchase Sophia. She has the bloodlines we relied on to produce the horses we needed to get us around on Cedar Creek. Sophia’s dam is Golden Willow Erin, who came to Bar None Morgans from Kaycee, Wyoming.
We are planning to breed Sophia to TruWest Smokey Mntn Chief this summer in expectation of an outstanding foal in 2027.

TruWest Savanah Smoke
Terri is Bobbi’s saddle horse. She is a Smokey daughter, and granddaughter of the incomparable TruWest Adobe Rose. Terri spends some of her time at the ranch in Roberts and some in Prairie County, where she goes on trail rides to improve the scenery.
Sally’s nephew Pete has a contract to run cattle on his ranch west of Glendive, Montana. Terri is on deck all summer to check the cows, move cows, find and relocate missing cows, and eventually bring them home.
This is a lovely, sensitive horse. Her temperament is a unique combination of high spirits and a gentle, affectionate nature. Terri loves carrots. Johnna loves Terri.
